My name is Laura Alonso and I started Orange Bird English in 2012. I saw that there was a demand for English classes totally personalised to the needs of the student and groups: classes which are fun, engaging and interesting. I give learners the confidence and courage to improve their language skills, no matter what level they are at. I love giving someone the self-belief to express themselves in English and seeing their progress as they do so. It doesn’t matter if the person is already a competent speaker, or a complete beginner, I help them improve at their own level and pace to meet their personal English goals.
I have a degree in English Language and Literature and a Masters in Linguistics. I am qualified to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL). After university I taught drama and literacy at a secondary school in England. I then moved to South America for 6 years, where I taught English and drama to children and adults in Brazil and Argentina.
I lived in London for three years working as an English teacher. I was also editor and writer for a charity magazine.
I have now been based in Luxembourg for a year teaching English learners in the Grand Duchy.
